The Green Slime

The Green Slime (1968) is a sci-fi horror romp you can watch online on iFILM. A massive asteroid is on a collision course with Earth, so a crew leaves a nearby space station to blow it apart. They pull it off — and unknowingly carry a smear of glowing green goo back aboard with them.

Once that ooze touches power, it mutates into one-eyed, tentacled creatures that gorge on electricity. Zap one and you simply get more of them. Robert Horton and Luciana Paluzzi are soon trapped in the station's tight corridors, racing the clock as the things pour out of every hatch.

This US-Japan production came from director Kinji Fukasaku, who would later make Battle Royale. The Green Slime has aged into a beloved slice of 1960s space schlock: wobbly sets, a brisk pace, rubbery monsters and an unforgettably goofy theme song over the titles.
