Life (2017) is a science-fiction horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Daniel Espinosa directs Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson and Ryan Reynolds as part of an International Space Station crew handed a soil sample fresh from Mars.

Inside the dirt sits a single dormant cell. The team coaxes it awake, names it Calvin, and watches it grow. At first it drifts like a small translucent flower. Then it gets smarter, stronger and very hard to contain. Six astronauts are sealed in orbit with an organism that learns from every mistake they make and has no intention of going back to sleep. Hiroyuki Sanada and Olga Dihovichnaya round out a crew that keeps running low on both air and options.

Written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick of Deadpool fame, the film trades jokes for dread, using zero gravity against its characters as blood and bodies float through the modules. It stays tight, claustrophobic, and saves a cold gut-punch for the very end. Stream Life (2017) online on iFILM.
