Synopsis
Star Trek (2009) is J.J. Abrams' sci-fi action reboot you can watch online on iFILM. It rewinds the saga to the very beginning, when Kirk and Spock were raw cadets who couldn't stand the sight of each other.
James Kirk (Chris Pine) is a reckless Iowa farm kid who throws the first punch and thinks later. Spock (Zachary Quinto) is half-Vulcan, raised to bury every feeling under cold logic. They clash on everything. Then Nero (Eric Bana), a Romulan from the future, arrives bent on erasing the Federation, and the green crew of the Enterprise has to learn teamwork mid-crisis. Joining them are Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Dr. McCoy (Karl Urban) and engineer Scotty (Simon Pegg).
Abrams rebuilt Gene Roddenberry's universe so that longtime Trekkies and total newcomers could both jump in. Leonard Nimoy returns as the original Spock, tying the new timeline to the 1960s show.
