Gravity

A cloud of orbital debris tears the shuttle apart. Stone (Sandra Bullock) and seasoned astronaut Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) are left alone in the void, cut off from mission control, oxygen running low. Every orbit brings another deadly wave of wreckage circling back. A single tether connects them to each other and to any chance of going home. Soon Stone has to find her own way down.

Cuaron shot the film in long, unbroken takes; the opening drifts for thirteen minutes without a cut, and the silence of space hits harder than any score.
