Escape from the 21st Century

Escape from the 21st Century (2024) is a Chinese sci-fi action-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Three school friends stumble onto a ridiculous superpower: one sneeze flings them twenty years forward or back in time.

At first it's just a party trick and an excuse to mess around. But the grown-up future turns out to be nothing like the bright world they pictured as kids, and bouncing through time starts to carry a price. Suddenly the three of them are saddled with a job far bigger than they are — saving that future before it goes off the rails. Director Li Yang blends live actors with full-blown comic-book and anime style: hard cuts, blaring color, hand-drawn doodles slapped right over the frame.

Zhang Ruoyun and Zhong Chuxi headline the chaos. The film is loud and unapologetically silly, closer to a hyperactive manga than to serious hard science fiction — best for viewers who want visual mayhem and don't need the time-travel rules to hold up.
