Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Steve Buscemi, and John Turturro as the unforgettable Jesus Quintana fill out a gallery of Los Angeles oddballs.

The Coens wrote the original script and shot the whole thing in a sun-bleached LA style that somehow makes nihilists, ferrets, and adult-film producers feel like perfectly natural neighbors.
