Seraphim Falls

Seraphim Falls (2007) is a stark Western you can watch online on iFILM, directed by David Von Ancken in his feature debut. The Civil War is over, but former Confederate colonel Carver, played by Liam Neeson, refuses to let it end until one man is dead.

That man is Gideon, a Union ex-captain played by Pierce Brosnan. The film opens mid-chase, a rifle shot already fired, and barely slows down. Wounded and freezing, Gideon scrambles down snowbound peaks and across salt flats while Carver's hired guns close in. Why this hunt began stays hidden for most of the runtime, and the slow reveal does more work than any gunfight.
