Excision

Excision (2012) is a horror-comedy with a vicious streak that you can watch online on iFILM. High-schooler Pauline fits in nowhere: classmates avoid her, her mother is embarrassed by her, and her head fills with bloody daydreams about surgery and bodies on the table.

Pauline wants to be a surgeon and thinks she's brilliant, while everyone else sees a greasy, blank-eyed outcast with bad skin and worse manners. The one person she truly cares about is her younger sister Grace, who has cystic fibrosis. Desperate to win back the approval of her cold, appearance-obsessed mother, Pauline hits on a plan to save Grace herself, and it owes nothing to any medical textbook.

AnnaLynne McCord, best known from the glossy 90210, vanishes into the role and turns in the best work of her career here, all glamour stripped away. The supporting bench is wild: Malcolm McDowell, Ray Wise, Traci Lords and John Waters all turn up.
