Synopsis

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) is David Lynch's American mystery thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Where the television series circled the death of Laura Palmer from the outside, this film goes inside — the final seven days of her life, told without the comfort of the show's quirky humor. Sheryl Lee carries the whole weight of it, and it is not a light film.

The story opens in a different town. Agent Chester Desmond (Chris Isaak) investigates a murdered girl and simply vanishes. Agent Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) wakes from a dark vision. Then the film shifts to Twin Peaks, where Laura Palmer — homecoming queen, A-student, beloved by everyone — is holding herself together with secrets no one around her will look at directly. Ray Wise plays her father Leland. David Bowie appears in a brief, deeply strange scene as missing agent Phillip Jeffries.

Lynch designed the film to disturb rather than explain, and audiences in 1992 were largely unprepared for it. Seen now, alongside the 2017 continuation, it functions as the emotional core of the entire Twin Peaks project. Stream Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) online on iFILM.
