Synopsis
Silent House (2011) is a claustrophobic horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Sarah heads to a boarded-up family lake house with her father and uncle to patch it up before sale — no power, dead phones, windows nailed shut. They plan to crash overnight and start at dawn.
The hook is the camera trick: the movie unfolds as one seemingly unbroken take, roughly 86 minutes in real time, with no cut to let you breathe. You're locked in the dark right alongside Sarah. She hears footsteps above. Her father goes to check and doesn't come back. After that it's just a flashlight, echoing rooms, and the growing certainty that someone else is inside — and a buried piece of the past she can barely recall.
Elizabeth Olsen carries almost every frame in one of her earliest leads, before the fame hit. Directors Chris Kentis and Laura Lau remake a 2010 Uruguayan film, betting on dread and confinement instead of gore.
