Synopsis

Ginger Snaps (2000) is a Canadian horror film directed by John Fawcett — watch online on iFILM. Sisters Ginger and Brigitte are teenage outcasts killing time in the bland suburb of Bailey Downs by staging gory fake-death scenes on a camcorder. One night, something attacks Ginger in the dark.

The bite wounds close by morning. Then the real horror starts: Ginger changes — fast, physically, in ways that scare her more than any wound. Katharine Isabelle plays Ginger with a raw edge that makes the transformation genuinely unsettling; Emily Perkins is Brigitte, scrambling to find a cure before her sister crosses a line there's no coming back from. Their parents notice nothing. The clock runs down.

Director Fawcett and screenwriter Karen Walton use the werewolf myth as a direct metaphor for puberty and the terror of losing control of your own body. The film won the Grand Prix at the Gérardmer International Fantasy Film Festival in 2001 and launched a cult franchise. Stream Ginger Snaps (2000) online on iFILM.
