Synopsis
Open Water 2: Adrift (2006) is a survival thriller you can watch online on iFILM. A group of old high-school friends reunites years later to celebrate a thirtieth birthday aboard a rented yacht, miles out from any shore.
Sun, champagne, easy nostalgia — one of them dives in, and the rest follow. Only after they've splashed around do they realize the swim ladder is still up. The hull is smooth and far too high to grip, the deck is out of reach, their phones are up top, and an infant is asleep on board. Land is a smudge on the horizon. From here it isn't a shark movie at all but something plainer and nastier: six people, open ocean, and no way back from their own careless mistake.
German director Hans Horn shoots almost the entire film on the water — nothing but waves, rising panic, and the cold slowly eating away at everyone. Fatigue, hypothermia, and old grudges that resurface at the worst moment. The dread comes from how ordinary the error feels.
