Synopsis
The Innkeepers (2011) is Ti West's slow-burn ghost story, free to watch online on iFILM. Over a dying hotel's final weekend, two bored clerks go looking for the spirit that supposedly never checked out.
The Yankee Pedlar Inn is days from closing, and only Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy) are left to run it. Between shifts they keep an amateur website about the place's ghost, hunting for proof with a cheap audio recorder. A handful of guests drift through: a former TV actress turned medium (Kelly McGillis) and an old man who insists on a room upstairs. The emptier the building gets, the deeper Claire pokes into the basement, and the less she wants an answer.
West takes his time on purpose. For an hour this plays almost like a workplace comedy about two slackers, then the floor drops away.
