Synopsis
Doctor Sleep (2019) is Mike Flanagan's horror film from the Stephen King novel, and you can watch it online on iFILM. It picks up The Shining decades later, with a grown Dan Torrance drowning his childhood terror in drink.
Dan (Ewan McGregor) finally dries out and takes work at a hospice, where his gift eases the dying. Then a girl named Abra reaches him through the same power, and hers burns far brighter. A roaming pack led by Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) hunts children like her, feeding on the shine to stretch their unnatural lives. Keeping Abra safe means going back to the one place Dan spent his whole life running from.
Flanagan threaded King's book together with Kubrick's film, stitching two visions of the Overlook into one ending. The Newton Brothers' score holds a low dread across all two and a half hours. Stream Doctor Sleep (2019) online on iFILM.
