About

Synopsis

Cujo (1983) is Lewis Teague's horror film from the Stephen King novel, and you can watch it online on iFILM. In a quiet Maine town, a gentle St. Bernard takes a bite from a rabid bat. Slowly the dog turns into two hundred pounds of foaming menace.

What follows is a siege with no exit. Donna Trenton and her young son Tad get stranded in a stalled car in a remote farmyard while the sick animal circles outside. No fuel, no phone, the summer heat climbing, the water gone. Dee Wallace carries the film as Donna, with little Danny Pintauro as the terrified Tad.

Teague pins his cast inside a baking Ford Pinto for most of the back half, and the claustrophobia bites harder than any creature could. King wrote Cujo about ordinary dread, broken machines, broken marriages, unpaid bills, and the rabid dog is less the cause than the final straw. Sweaty, mean, and entirely grounded.
