Synopsis
1922 (2017) is Zak Hilditch's grim psychological horror, adapted from a Stephen King novella, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Rural Nebraska, a working farm, and a decision that rots a family from the inside.
Wilfred James (Thomas Jane) refuses to sell his wife's inherited land and move to the city. Arlette (Molly Parker) wants exactly that. To keep the acres, Wilfred talks his teenage son Henry into helping murder her, and they hide the body down an old well. What follows is slow ruin: the crops fail, Henry runs off with his girlfriend, and Wilfred's mind starts to slip. Rats trail the farmer everywhere, real or conjured by a conscience he cannot bury.
Made for Netflix, the film is built as a confession, with Wilfred narrating how he destroyed everyone he loved. Thomas Jane delivers the whole story through a clenched, gravelly drawl that carries the dread. Dylan Schmid and Neal McDonough round out the cast. Stream 1922 (2017) online on iFILM.
