Synopsis

Three two-part investigations again, each pulling into a stranger corner of the city. "One for Sorrow" opens on a high-achieving student and amateur taxidermist dead of an overdose, then drags the team through social media, drugs, stuffed birds and the lives of homeless migrants. "Magnum Opus" finds a college dean clubbed to death with a rock and a killer leaving riddles, racing the detectives to the next intended victim. The closing pair shatters a perfect Oxford summer with a parcel bomb.
Underneath the crime runs a quiet goodbye: a six-month trip to New Zealand with Laura Hobson is waiting, and Lewis has to rescue both his career and that relationship before it's too late.
