Synopsis
House Arrest (1996) is an American family comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Harry Winer. When high-schooler Grover Beindorf learns his parents plan to split after eighteen years, he and his little sister Stacy decide the grown-ups are the ones acting like children.
Their fix is simple: lure Mom and Dad into the basement, nail the door shut, and refuse to let them out until they patch things up. Word spreads across school by morning, and soon other kids with cracking households are marching their own parents down to the same cellar — now behind a steel grate. A crowd of adults locked up, with teenagers playing reluctant marriage counselors. The grown-up cast is the real surprise: Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Pollak as the divorcing couple, alongside Jennifer Tilly, Wallace Shawn and a teenage Jennifer Love Hewitt. It's loud and a touch naive, but warm-hearted — a relic of an era when family comedies still bet on a happy ending. Stream House Arrest (1996) online on iFILM.
