Spiders

Spiders (2000) is an American sci-fi horror you can watch online on iFILM. A secret NASA experiment splicing alien DNA into a rare breed of spider is underway aboard a space shuttle when a freak meteor shower hits and sends everything spinning out of control.

The lone surviving spider is stashed at a classified base deep in the California desert — except it isn't really alone. A second one tears its way out of the host's body and goes on a rampage. Curious reporter Marci Eyre (Lana Parrilla) lands right in the middle of it and has to escape and warn the world before the creatures spread past the sand. Cue cocoons, blood-hungry mutants and a breeding instinct that couldn't care less about people.

Director Gary Jones made an honest turn-of-the-millennium B-movie: practical effects, slimy monsters and the tagline "Something Very Hungry is About to Hatch!" Nobody's hunting for high art here — you come for the brisk pace and old-school giant-bug scares. If creature-feature schlock is your comfort food, grab the popcorn.
