Godzilla (1998) is Roland Emmerich's monster blockbuster you can watch online on iFILM. French nuclear tests in the Pacific mutate an ordinary iguana into a skyscraper-sized reptile, and within weeks it comes ashore in Manhattan.

Biologist Niko Tatopoulos (Matthew Broderick) gets pulled in after the creature shreds a string of freighters. He figures out the truth fast: the lizard didn't travel to New York to smash it but to nest. Hundreds of eggs are hidden somewhere below the streets. The US military pounds the beast with missiles and levels half the skyline, yet nothing sticks. A secretive Frenchman, Philippe Roaché (Jean Reno), has his own reasons for hunting it. The clock is running. Once the brood hatches, there is nothing left to save.
