Synopsis
Trash Fire (2016) is a pitch-black horror comedy from writer-director Richard Bates Jr. that you can watch online on iFILM. Owen is bitter, withdrawn and estranged from his family — and his girlfriend Isabel has just announced she's pregnant.
To prove he can be a steady father, Owen agrees to drive out and face the only relatives he has left: a fervently religious grandmother and his sister Pearl, badly disfigured in a long-ago fire. What starts as a peace-making visit curdles fast. Adrian Grenier and Angela Trimbur lead, with Fionnula Flanagan, AnnaLynne McCord and Matthew Gray Gubler rounding out the household.
Bates traffics in acid-tongued portraits of toxic families, and here guilt, pity and zealotry knot together until something has to give.
