Eiffel

Eiffel (2021) is a French period romance you can watch online on iFILM. In late 19th-century Paris, engineer Gustave Eiffel is fresh off his work on the Statue of Liberty and dreaming of building an underground railway, not a tower.

Then Adrienne walks back into his life, a woman he loved and lost years before. Their rekindled affair pushes Eiffel toward a reckless gamble: raise a 300-metre iron lattice for the 1889 World's Fair, taller than anything ever built. Officials recoil, Parisians sign petitions against the eyesore, money runs short, and he keeps building anyway, half for glory and half for her. Romain Duris plays the obsessive engineer, Emma Mackey is the woman who upends him, and the love story takes far more liberties than the history books allow.

The film was directed by Martin Bourboulon, who went on to make the recent two-part Three Musketeers.
