The Three Musketeers: Milady

The Three Musketeers: Milady (Les Trois Mousquetaires: Milady, 2023) is the second half of France's lavish Dumas adaptation, and you can watch it online on iFILM. D'Artagnan's beloved Constance is snatched away before his eyes, and rescuing her means trusting the deadliest figure at court.

With Athos, Portos and Aramis marching off to fight the Protestants at the siege of La Rochelle, the young Gascon (François Civil) has no choice but to ally with Milady de Winter (Eva Green), a woman whose secrets could shatter both an old friendship and the kingdom itself. Vincent Cassel plays a brooding Athos who carries his own scarred history with Milady. That thread is the film's live wire, with the past coming to collect from everyone.

Director Martin Bourboulon shoots this as muscular period cinema, full of mud, blood and long single-take duels, stripped of the gloss earlier versions wore.
