Synopsis

What brings them back is a death. Tuck, the old man who once took a teenage Dawson in and became the father he never had, has passed away, and both return to their small Louisiana hometown for the funeral. Amanda (Michelle Monaghan) now has a husband and a family; Dawson (James Marsden) has a quiet, solitary life and an old wound that never healed. Flashbacks fill in their younger selves, played by Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato, and the tragedy that once tore the young lovers apart.
