Synopsis
Before Sunset (2004) is Richard Linklater's romantic drama you can watch online on iFILM. Nine years after one night in Vienna, Jesse arrives in Paris to read from his new book — and there she is.
Jesse (Ethan Hawke) turned that night with a stranger into a novel. At a bookshop event, Celine (Julie Delpy) steps out of the crowd. He has a flight to catch, so they have maybe an hour. They walk through Paris, drift through a cafe, take a boat down the Seine, and talk without stopping — about the years between, the missed connection, the lives they built instead. Jesse is married now, with a son. Celine guards her feelings until she can't.
Shot in near real time with long unbroken takes, the film runs a tight eighty minutes. Linklater, Hawke and Delpy wrote the script together and earned an Oscar nomination for it.
