Synopsis
The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan (Les Trois Mousquetaires : D'Artagnan, 2023) is a historical action adventure you can watch online on iFILM. It opens a new French two-part take on Alexandre Dumas, directed by Martin Bourboulon.
Early 17th-century France. The young Gascon D'Artagnan (François Civil) rides for Paris hoping to join the King's Musketeers. On the road he steps in to save a woman from abduction, takes a blade to the chest, and is left for dead. He survives, and his hunt for the men responsible drags him into something far bigger: Cardinal Richelieu's scheming and the icy menace of Milady de Winter (Eva Green) are pushing the country toward war. Athos, Porthos and Aramis take him under their wing, while he loses his heart to Constance, the Queen's confidante.
Bourboulon shoots Dumas without the usual costume-drama gloss, favoring mud, close-quarters brawls and muted color. Vincent Cassel as a haunted Athos and Romain Duris give the cast real heft, and "one for all and all for France" sets up an ending built to send you straight into part two.
