Starry Eyes

Starry Eyes (2014) is a horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Sarah is a young woman desperate to break into Hollywood, waiting tables at a burger joint while she chases auditions. Alexandra Essoe carries the whole thing, and she's terrific.

An audition for a shadowy old-guard production company changes everything. Each callback feels less like a meeting and more like a ritual, and soon Sarah is offered a bargain — fame, money and screen immortality in exchange for something she'll have to give up entirely. She says yes. Then her body starts to come apart, slowly and grotesquely, remaking her into something else.

Directors Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer use body horror to tell a sharp parable about the price of ambition, building to a genuinely brutal climax. There are no cheap jump scares here, just dread and physical decay that keep tightening. It's strong stuff for art-horror fans with a stomach for it. Squeamish viewers, steer clear.
