Synopsis

O'Keefe is nearly seventy, his family business is sinking, and a giant funeral corporation quietly walks away from a deal it shook hands on. In steps Gary, a loud, magnetic personal-injury lawyer who has never argued a contract case but can work a jury until the room holds its breath. The further this mismatched pair digs, the clearer it gets that a broken handshake is only the surface of a scheme built to drain poor and Black families across the South.
Director Margaret Betts stages a two-hour trial that keeps tipping from drama into comedy, carried by the easy chemistry between Foxx and Jones. Amazon released it.
