Black Mass

Black Mass (2015) is a crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Johnny Depp disappears into Whitey Bulger, the gangster who owned the streets of South Boston for two decades.

The bargain is grim. Bulger feeds the FBI names from the rival Italian mob, and in return the bureau looks the other way while his own crew kills, extorts and floats bodies in the harbor. The handler is John Connolly, played by Joel Edgerton — a kid from the same neighborhood who now shields the friend he grew up worshipping. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Bulger's brother, a Massachusetts state senator. Kevin Bacon, Dakota Johnson and Jesse Plemons round out the crew.

Director Scott Cooper built the film from the reporting of two Boston Globe journalists who spent years exposing the pact between a killer and federal agents.
