Asterix and the Vikings

Asterix and the Vikings (Astérix et les Vikings, 2006) is an animated family comedy you can watch online on iFILM. This French-Danish cartoon, drawn from the Goscinny and Uderzo comics, hands Asterix and Obelix an awkward job: turn the chief's useless nephew into a proper warrior.

Justforkix arrives from the big city with a trendy haircut, a love of dancing and a fear of pretty much everything. While the Gauls fail to toughen him up, a Viking crew lands on the coast. They're convinced that fear gives you the power to fly, so they kidnap the most cowardly young man alive and haul him off to Scandinavia. Asterix and Obelix have to sail north to drag their hopeless trainee back home.

Directors Stefan Fjeldmark and Jesper Møller keep the pace brisk and the Gaulish gags intact, and the trim 78-minute runtime fits younger viewers perfectly.
