Asterix Conquers America

Asterix Conquers America (Asterix in Amerika, 1994) is a family animated adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Caesar finally has a plan to crush the stubborn Gaulish village: snatch the druid who brews their magic potion and fling him off the edge of the world.

A centurion grabs old Getafix and his dog Dogmatix, then catapults them across the ocean to where Romans are sure the earth simply ends. The earth, of course, is round, and a whole unknown continent waits on the far shore. Asterix and his enormous friend Obelix chase after them over the Atlantic and crash straight into a Native American tribe, complete with a stampeding buffalo herd, a suspicious medicine man, and one misunderstanding after another. The potion is nearly gone, the legions are closing in, and without it the village back home has no defense. Germany's Gerhard Hahn studio keeps the artwork bright and brisk, trading the sly satire of the Goscinny and Uderzo comics for broad slapstick.
