Synopsis

...And Justice for All (1979) is a courtroom drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Norman Jewison and carried by a furious Al Pacino. He plays Arthur Kirkland, a Baltimore defense attorney whose belief in the law is slowly grinding him down.

Kirkland is sick of watching innocent people jailed on technicalities while crooks walk free. Then he's cornered into an impossible bargain: defend Judge Fleming, a man he openly despises, on a rape charge, or lose his license to practice. He takes the case hoping to game it, only to learn the judge is flatly guilty. Around him, everything frays at once. A colleague is cracking up, his beloved old grandfather is losing his grip on reality, and his own faith in the system comes apart at the seams.

Barry Levinson and Valerie Curtin wrote the script, which drew an Oscar nomination alongside Pacino's own nod for the lead. His exploding "You're out of order! The whole trial is out of order!" outburst has been quoted for decades. This is one for viewers who want an actor pushed to the edge rather than a tidy ending.
