Synopsis
12 Angry Men (1957) is a courtroom drama directed by Sidney Lumet — watch it online on iFILM. It was Lumet's debut feature, shot on a budget of under $400,000, almost entirely inside a single jury room. Henry Fonda produced the film and plays Juror 8, the lone holdout who refuses to raise his hand for a quick guilty verdict.
A teenager is accused of stabbing his father. Eleven jurors are ready to send him to the electric chair. One isn't. He doesn't claim the kid is innocent — he just wants an hour to talk it through. What follows is a slow, airless dismantling of certainties: Lee J. Cobb's furious Juror 3 clings to his verdict like it's personal, E.G. Marshall's Juror 4 works on pure logic, and one by one the room shifts. Every character in this ensemble gets a crack in the facade.
Three Academy Award nominations, the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. A film that cost less than a mid-range car today and still feels urgent. Stream 12 Angry Men (1957) in good quality online on iFILM.
