V/H/S: Viral (2014) is a found-footage horror anthology you can watch online on iFILM. The third entry in the cult V/H/S series drags the franchise out of dusty videotapes and into the age of smartphones, livestreams and the hunt for clicks.

A wraparound thread follows a bizarre police chase across nighttime Los Angeles, trailed by a crowd of phone-wielding gawkers desperate to capture the next viral clip. Between those beats sit standalone shorts: a stage magician whose cloak grants a genuinely dark power, a portal into a mirror reality where everyone has a sinister double, and a film crew that drops acid and crosses the Mexican border straight into a nightmare. The segments come from Nacho Vigalondo, Gregg Bishop, and the team of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.

Vigalondo's mirror-world piece is the most inventive and the most frightening, and it's the reason plenty of people press play. The film is rougher and more uneven than the first two installments, so it plays best for viewers already hooked on the series and on shaky-cam, blood-spattered amateur footage.
