Synopsis
The Blair Witch Project (1999) is a found-footage horror film you can watch online on iFILM. In October 1994, three student filmmakers walked into the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland, to shoot a documentary about a local legend — and were never seen again. A year later, someone recovered their tapes.
Heather, Joshua, and Mike chase the story of the Blair Witch: an old curse, child rituals, and the people who vanished in the Black Hills forest. Armed with a 16mm camera and a camcorder, they push deeper into the trees and lose the trail. At night, branches snap outside the tent, stick figures appear hanging from the woods, and the map seems to disappear on its own. Panic takes hold long before anything steps into frame.
Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez worked almost without a script: the actors improvised, shot their own footage, and the crew fed them dread after dark. Made on a shoestring budget, it earned hundreds of millions and all but invented the modern found-footage craze. What you don't see, and the shaking handheld camera, scare harder than any monster.
