Synopsis
No Way Out (1987) is a Pentagon thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Roger Donaldson. Kevin Costner stars as Navy officer Tom Farrell, freshly assigned to the Defense Department and falling hard for a woman named Susan Atwell.
The trouble: Susan is also seeing Costner's boss, Secretary of Defense David Brice, played with cold menace by Gene Hackman. When she turns up dead, Brice hands Farrell the murder case and orders him to pin it on a phantom Soviet mole. Now Farrell runs an investigation that keeps circling back to himself, racing the clock before a photo lab reconstructs the one image that ends him.
Donaldson keeps the screws turning inside marble corridors instead of car chases, and the closing twist became the film's calling card.
