About

Synopsis

Forrest Gump (1994) is Robert Zemeckis's drama starring Tom Hanks, and you can watch online on iFILM. From a roadside bus-stop bench, a gentle man from Alabama tells strangers his life story, and that story turns out to be the story of America itself.

Forrest is no genius, but he can run faster than fate. By sheer accident he becomes a college football star, a Vietnam war hero, a ping-pong champion, the owner of a shrimping fleet, and the guy who keeps turning up beside the nation's biggest moments. Around him stand Lieutenant Dan (Gary Sinise), who lost his legs and his faith in the war, and loyal friend Bubba. Through all of it runs one thread: his love for Jenny (Robin Wright), the childhood friend whose path keeps pulling her away. Tom Hanks plays it so that plain innocence somehow lands as wisdom.

Zemeckis adapted Winston Groom's novel and walked away with six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Director and Actor. "Life is like a box of chocolates" has long since left the screen and entered everyday speech. Stream Forrest Gump (1994) online on iFILM.
