Forrest is no genius, but he can run faster than fate. Around him stand Lieutenant Dan (Gary Sinise), who lost his legs and his faith in the war, and loyal friend Bubba. Through all of it runs one thread: his love for Jenny (Robin Wright), the childhood friend whose path keeps pulling her away. Tom Hanks plays it so that plain innocence somehow lands as wisdom.
