About

Synopsis

My Blueberry Nights (2007) is a tender road drama from Wong Kar-wai that you can watch online on iFILM. It marks the Hong Kong auteur's first English-language feature and the screen debut of singer Norah Jones.

Reeling from a breakup, Elizabeth leaves the keys to her old life in a small New York café run by Jeremy (Jude Law). Rather than sit with her grief, she heads across the country, waiting tables in diners along the way. The strangers she meets carry heavier burdens than her own: a drunk, broken cop (David Strathairn) and the wife who left him (Rachel Weisz), and a reckless gambler named Leslie (Natalie Portman). Each encounter nudges Elizabeth a little closer to understanding her own heart.

Wong shoots longing the way only he can — smeared neon, slow-motion glances, a soundtrack that does half the storytelling. There is more mood here than plot, and that's the point: this one is for viewers who put atmosphere above incident. The warm blueberry pie that nobody orders becomes a quiet symbol of second chances.
