Synopsis
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009) is a Warner Bros. animated action film you can watch online on iFILM. Lex Luthor has been elected President of the United States. His first move is to hunt down Superman.
His pretext is a Kryptonite meteor hurtling toward Earth, which Luthor spins to frame the Man of Steel as the threat. He posts a billion-dollar bounty on Superman's head and on his "partner in crime" Batman, instantly turning both heroes into outlaws hunted by every villain craving the payout. Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly voice Batman and Superman, reprising the roles that defined the 1990s animated series, and their easy chemistry carries the whole thing.
The script lifts its plot straight from the Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness comic, keeping the artist's blocky, muscular style and a relentless pace with almost no downtime. At a tight 67 minutes it's snappy, snarky and aimed squarely at DC fans rather than newcomers. If you like your superhero cartoons darker and pitched for grown-ups, this hits the mark.
