Synopsis
The Crucifixion (2017) is a supernatural horror from director Xavier Gens, and you can watch it online on iFILM. A nun dies during an exorcism, the priest who performed it is locked up for murder, and a journalist sets out to learn which force actually killed her.
American reporter Nicole Rawlins, played by Sophie Cookson, travels to a remote Romanian village to investigate. Was Sister Adelina a mentally ill woman tortured to death by ritual, or did the priest truly lose a fight with something demonic? Nicole arrives a hard skeptic, and the film leans on exactly that doubt to make every cold draft and shadow feel earned.
The script draws on the 2005 Tanacu case, where a nun was killed during an attempted exorcism in a Romanian convent. Carpathian locations and a creeping turn from Javier Botet keep the dread thick.
