The Nun

The Vatican dispatches two investigators to a cloistered monastery in rural Romania after a young nun takes her own life: Father Burke, played by Demián Bichir — a priest who carries a secret that the Church prefers buried — and novice Sister Irene, played by Taissa Farmiga, days away from taking her final vows. On the ground they meet a local farmer named Maurice who guided the last woman to her death. The abbey's stone corridors hide something that moves between the shadows, wears a habit and has been waiting for new arrivals. Bonnie Aarons returns as Valak, the figure she first played in The Conjuring 2.
