Synopsis
Grave Encounters 2 (2012) is a found-footage horror you can watch online on iFILM. The sequel pulls a sly trick: here the first film is treated as just a movie, and film student Alex Wright becomes convinced that everything in it actually happened.
An anonymous clip lands in Alex's inbox, looking like a deleted scene from Grave Encounters. He digs deeper, fails to track down anyone from the original crew, and concludes they are all dead. So he grabs a camera, drags his friends into the same abandoned psychiatric hospital, and the building greets them the way it greeted the last batch. Anyone who saw part one knows the routine from there: corridors that rearrange themselves the moment you turn around, and something that simply will not let you leave.
John Poliquin directed from a script by the Vicious Brothers, the duo behind the original. The tagline "Fear is just a word. Reality is much worse" promises more than the movie delivers, but for fans of low-budget horror it is an honest dose of darkness, jump scares and claustrophobia.
