Synopsis

Zsa-zsa Korda (Benicio del Toro) has survived so many assassination attempts he has stopped counting. Sensing his luck is running thin, he names his only daughter Liesl (Mia Threapleton) sole heir and pulls her out of a convent to learn the family trade. Alongside the tutor Bjorn (Michael Cera), they crisscross the globe patching holes in a vast transcontinental venture while scheming rivals, foreign terrorists and hired killers close in. The fate of a family, an empire and all of Phoenicia hangs on one tangled plan.
Anderson assembles a deep bench: Tom Hanks, Benedict Cumberbatch, Scarlett Johansson, Bryan Cranston, Bill Murray, Riz Ahmed. The symmetrical frames, deadpan timing and dollhouse staging are all here, yet underneath sits a surprisingly warm father-daughter argument about faith and money.
