Lord of War

Lord of War (2005) is a crime drama from Andrew Niccol you can watch online on iFILM. Yuri Orlov (Nicolas Cage) grew up on Brighton Beach, the son of immigrants who ran a small restaurant. He worked out early that wars always need bullets, and that bullets always need a seller.

From small-time hustler, Yuri climbs into the role of a major arms supplier feeding dictators and warlords from Lebanon to West Africa. His brother Vitaly (Jared Leto) spirals into addiction, his model wife Ava (Bridget Moynahan) must never learn where the money comes from, and a dogged Interpol agent, Jack Valentine (Ethan Hawke), keeps chasing a man he can never quite pin down. The higher Yuri rises, the harder it gets to ignore what his merchandise leaves behind.

Niccol opens with the famous "life of a bullet" sequence, tracking a single round from factory to a soldier's skull, and keeps a cold, almost documentary tone throughout. Cage narrates the whole thing without an ounce of remorse, which makes it land harder. Stream Lord of War (2005) online on iFILM.
