"The Auschwitz Report" (Správa, 2021) is a Slovak war drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Peter Bebjak, the 94-minute film reconstructs what actually happened after two young Slovak Jews — Freddy and Walter — slipped out of the camp on 10 April 1944 after nearly two years of planning.
Getting out is only half the story. Exhausted and moving through mountains, they make their way back into Slovakia, find Red Cross representatives, and hand over a forty-page account of the killings. Noël Czuczor and Peter Ondrejička play the two men; John Hannah appears as one of the recipients in a position to act. The testimony is precise, detailed, and damning. Almost no one wants to believe it, and publishing it is out of the question.
Bebjak keeps the pacing lean, and the film's hardest moment isn't in the escape sequences — it's the bureaucratic silence that follows a document the world needed to hear. Stream "The Auschwitz Report" (2021) online on iFILM.
