Synopsis
Walking with the Enemy (2014) is a WWII historical drama based on real events — watch online on iFILM. Directed by Mark Schmidt, starring Jonas Armstrong and Ben Kingsley.
Budapest, 1944. Hungary falls under direct Nazi control and deportations begin. A young Jewish man named Elek loses track of his family in the chaos. His response is extreme: he steals a German officer's uniform and slips into the machinery of the occupation, passing as one of them while searching for the people he loves and helping others escape. Meanwhile, Swiss diplomat Carl Lutz — played by Kingsley — works through legal channels, negotiating protective passes and organizing safe houses, including a former glass factory on Vadász Street that sheltered three thousand people.
The film moves between documented history and dramatized fiction without losing sight of either. Lutz's story alone is remarkable; the film gives it weight. Stream Walking with the Enemy (2014) on iFILM — a war drama about how far ordinary people went to protect each other under impossible conditions.
