Synopsis
Emperor (2020) is a historical action-drama you can watch online on iFILM. It draws on the life of Shields Green, a man who broke out of Southern slavery and made his way into the revolt that cracked open antebellum America.
Nicknamed "Emperor" since boyhood, Green (Dayo Okeniyi) escapes north and crosses paths with the orator Frederick Douglass and the radical abolitionist John Brown, who is recruiting men to take up arms. The road leads toward the 1859 raid on the Harpers Ferry armory. Bruce Dern, James Cromwell and Kat Graham fill out the supporting cast.
