Synopsis
The Stranger (2014) is a Chilean horror-thriller directed by Guillermo Amoedo that you can watch online on iFILM. A guarded man named Martin drifts into a quiet town in the far north, hunting for his wife, Ana. He means to end the illness that has left them both craving human blood.
Ana, it turns out, has been dead for years. Before Martin can destroy the curse with himself, three local thugs led by Caleb — the son of a crooked police lieutenant — beat him half to death. That single night sets off a chain reaction, and the town slowly drowns in the very blood Martin hoped to bury. Told in scattered flashbacks, the film hides an almost biblical story of guilt and reckoning under its vampire premise.
Produced under Eli Roth's banner, this is cold, deliberate dread rather than cheap jump-scares. It plays less like a fang-and-cape vampire flick and more like a slow burn about an inherited curse — best suited to viewers who like their horror grim and unglamorous.
