Synopsis

A widow is left with debts and two daughters. The elder, Elvira, dreams of the royal ball and the Prince's attention — but her stepsister Agnes is impossibly beautiful, and Elvira can't compete. So she rebuilds herself by force: a nose operation is only the start, followed by corsets, starvation and procedures that are hard to watch.
Blichfeldt turns a nursery story into a sharp jab at the beauty industry and what bodies pay to meet it. Critics have lined it up next to The Substance, though this one runs colder and far more visceral. If you like horror that draws real blood from its theme, it lands.
