About

Synopsis

The Exorcist (1973) — watch online on iFILM: William Friedkin's landmark horror film, adapted by William Peter Blatty from his own novel. Starring Ellen Burstyn, Linda Blair, Jason Miller, and Max von Sydow. Nominated for 10 Academy Awards, it won two — Adapted Screenplay and Sound — a nearly unprecedented achievement for a horror film at the time.

Actress Chris MacNeil watches her twelve-year-old daughter Regan change into something unrecognizable. Doctors run every test and find nothing. The voice coming out of the girl is not hers. The body moves in ways a body shouldn't. Father Damien Karras, a Jesuit priest fighting his own crisis of faith, gets pulled in — and what he finds shakes what little belief he has left. Rome sends Father Merrin, a veteran of one previous exorcism, who knows exactly what he's walking into.

Friedkin built the dread with clinical patience — no jump scares, no shortcuts, just the slow collapse of every rational explanation. Stream The Exorcist (1973) online on iFILM.
